Winner Announcement 7/13/23

Congratulations to winner Kathy Underwood, winner of the giveaway from Pamela Morgan, author of SIMPLY SKYE, illustrated by Heather Bell. Thank you Pamela and congratulations to you on your important new book which was released this week! Kathy, please email me at ljrwritenow @gmail.com so that I can connect you with the author to arrange for your zoom.

Earlier this week, I shared my interview with Amanda Davis celebrating her recent picture book, MOONLIGHT MEMORIES, illustrated by Michelle Jing Chan. Check out our interview and comment on the post for a chance at her giveaway. Coming in August, I have Matthew Broberg-Moffitt who will be celebrating the release of his amazing cookbook, COLOR TASTE TEXTURE: Recipes for Picky Eaters, Those with Food Aversion, & Anyone Who’s Ever Cringed at Food. His personal story is fascinating and I’ve known him virtually for years so I’m really looking forward to celebrating this book. There’s another feature in August, but more about that later.

Support authors and illustrators by writing reviews, asking your library to purchase their books, giving books as gifts, and telling your friends about books you love! Thanks for reading.

I'm a reading specialist and award winning educator from Chicago. While living in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado for nine years, I spent time hiking on the trails with my Goldendoodle Charlie and friends, writing, working in a literacy program at the Boulder Public Library, and mentoring writers and teachers. I love visiting schools. My books combine STEM and Kindness. "Aliana Reaches for the Moon" a picture book that draws inspiration from the moon and the curiosity of children, inviting children to be creative, explore, and experiment. "An Accidental Hero: A Mostly True Wombat Story" a picture book told in the form of a newscast which skillfully balances the serious subject of forest fires with compassion and humor to help children navigate this important topic through the real events of 2020. I moved to Northern New Jersey in 2025 and am working on new projects.
