The Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum is located on the former Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado.
Yesterday, I was on a field trip with second and third graders and we were led by a former Navy officer who shared some personal experiences and talked about the different aircraft above and in front of us.
The museum offers a variety of programs including “access to the cockpit” where they allow people to sit planes and helicopters not normally available to civilians.
I love Air and Space museums and would like to visit this one after reading your review.

Thanks! I didnโt even know this museum was there before the field trip and Iโd like to go back and explore on my own soon.

It was really a great opportunity to see things up close and I hope to go again on my own.
Shameless plug, but my book ALIANA REACHES FOR THE MOON which is coming out in February has a wonderful tie-in with the museum so Iโm hoping to schedule an event there after itโs released. ๐๐๐

๐ฎ I’m an Apollo moon landing enthusiast who would LOVE to visit this museum, the inner ‘hydraulic’ workings of a Navy aircraft’s split wing are a feat of engineering, and I’d guess the Bell ‘huey’ actually flew in Vietnam? Great photos ๐ .

Thanks! You know your aircraft. Yes, the Bell Huey was actually flown and the person who donated it is a big supporter of the museum.
There was so much to learn, see, and imagine. I look forward to going back.
