Winner Announcement 8/10/23

Congratulations to Susan Wroble you’ve won the 20-minute Ask-Me-Anything from Jilanne Hoffmann, author of A RIVER OF DUST: The Life-Giving Link Between North Africa and the Amazon, illustrated by Eugenia Mello. Susan please email me so that I can connect you with Jilanne and thanks again, Jilanne for being on the blog.

If you haven’t read my interview with Benjamin Ryan, from Tuesday you’re going to want to go back and take a look. Benjamin’s debut novel is a YA mystery full of magic and twisty secrets that’s set in a behavior program, MADAME ELDRIDGE’S WAYWARD HOME FOR UNRULY BOYS. Stop by to read our interview and enter the giveaway. Benjamin has an inspiring life story and writing journey. His book sold out in the first few days, but it’s available again, so ordering information is also available in that post.

I’m very excited for my next interview on August 22 with Matthew Broberg-Moffitt another soon-to-be debut author with a fantastic cookbook. Besides being a wonderful writer, Matthew is also a classically trained chef! I’m hoping that he’s going to bring cinnamon rolls for me during the interview because I’ve seen pictures of his creations and you can actually smell them through the screen. His book COLOR TASTE TEXTURE is amazing, I’ve seen sneak peeks. I can’t wait!

I'm a reading specialist and award winning educator from Chicago. While living in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado for nine years, I spent time hiking on the trails with my Goldendoodle Charlie and friends, writing, working in a literacy program at the Boulder Public Library, and mentoring writers and teachers. I love visiting schools. My books combine STEM and Kindness. "Aliana Reaches for the Moon" a picture book that draws inspiration from the moon and the curiosity of children, inviting children to be creative, explore, and experiment. "An Accidental Hero: A Mostly True Wombat Story" a picture book told in the form of a newscast which skillfully balances the serious subject of forest fires with compassion and humor to help children navigate this important topic through the real events of 2020. I moved to Northern New Jersey in 2025 and am working on new projects.
