I'm a reading specialist and award winning educator from Chicago now living in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado with my Goldendoodle, Charlie. I spend time volunteering, hiking on the trails with Charlie and friends, and writing. I love visiting schools and mentoring writers and teachers. My books combine STEM and Kindness. "Aliana Reaches for the Moon" a picture book that draws inspiration from the moon and the curiosity of children, inviting children to be creative, explore, and experiment. "An Accidental Hero: A Mostly True Wombat Story" a picture book told in the form of a newscast which skillfully balances the serious subject of forest fires with compassion and humor to help children navigate this important topic through the real events of 2020. I'm currently working on a middle grade novel and several picture books with STEM elements and dogs.

He’s definitely one of my favorite artists! Have you ever been to The Musee d’Orsay in Paris? Totally worth the trip and from where you live, it would be a train ride away!

Yes! I knew you were in Europe, and I remembered it was a country I haven’t visited yet. Paris is amazing and my favorite afternoon was spent in the room with the Water Lily murals (I’m not sure they’re called murals) at the Orangerie.

I believe I’ve only seen one Monet painting in person. Pity.

That is a pity. You live in England, right? Take the train to Paris and go to the orangerie, It will change your life.

I wish. I live in Toronto, Canada. I missed a Monet exhibit this past spring at the Art Gallery of Ontario.

Not sure why I thought you were in England. 🤔 Sorry you missed the Ontario exhibit.
I still recommend a trip to Paris. Or even the Art Institute of Chicago has several Monet paintings in its permanent collection.

Hoping to be in Germany next September, so Paris may be possible then.
Always enjoyed Chicago the few times I’ve visited there.
Thank you for the recommendations.
