Sunrise Saturday

Sometimes, at just the right moment,

I raise the shade to find a painting I haven’t seen before.

Sometimes, the mix of shades can’t be captured.

Sometimes, I only have the memory of its beauty.

But other days, my camera saves the memory for you.

I'm a reading specialist from Chicago, now living in the beauty of the Roosevelt National Forest in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. My first book "Aliana Reaches for the Moon" features a creative and curious girl who loves science, her little brother, and her very patient parents. I'm currently writing a MG novel and several picture books with STEM elements and dogs.

  1. …and I would love to meet you both! Still dreaming of the day I can fly out safely and gather with the most amazing people of the Rocky Mts & Roosevelt NF. We even have FF miles to use before May. 😢 Waiting to see how people in Israel tolerate 4th booster. 🌄This is a gorgeous photo, with lovely words Laura. My problem with photography (using phone) is that it usually doesn’t capture what I’m seeing, either the perspective or the light. I know you have an awesome camera. Maybe I’ll dig my digital 35 mm out. Now I just need mountains….sigh….. take care all, stay well and creative.✌🏼💖🎶🎨📚🌻

    1. Thanks, Annie! This one was actually taken with my iPhone but I know what you mean about what I see versus what the camera captures. I hope you can travel this way soon! Every time I think we are going to have this behind us, another surge jolts me back to reality.
