December 2017 has been unusually dry and warm in Colorado. Instead of skiing, and snowshoeing, I’m still enjoying hikes on dry trails. The sound of the creek changes depending upon the time of year. Frozen surface gives way to the gentle movement from beneath creating a beautiful sound for peaceful contemplation.
Also striking is the exquisite pattern on the ice created by the steady movement of the creek. Winter hikes are an inspiration for the senses.
Looks like a great hike. You think the snow is coming soon? As I sit here in 90 degree Cambodia, I’m thinking, man what I wouldn’t give to go on a nice winter hike 😂

Wow, 90 degrees. We had snow the beginning of October, but of course that’s long melted. It really is lovely to have these perfect days, but I’m sure snow’s coming soon.
