Friday morning, before the 70 degree weekend melted most of the snow, Charlie and I joined 2 canine and 1 human friend for a snowy hike.
It was a fun challenge with sunny skies and new dog in the mix. Charlie and Laine, the Springer Spaniel, ran and chased their usual dance, tiring each other out. Cleo, who seemed to want no part of their chaos, aligned herself with the humans.
These photos are from a rest stop near the end of our hike. As you can see, Charlie’s puppy energy was still in high gear and Laine isn’t the least bit tired.

I'm a reading specialist from Chicago, now living in the beauty of the Roosevelt National Forest in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. My first book "Aliana Reaches for the Moon" is about a creative, curious, kind and messy girl who loves science and her very patient parents. I'm currently writing a YA novel about a family broken apart by a secret and a misunderstanding.
Future books in the Aliana series will include dealing with forest fires, learning about clouds and animal habitats.

Yes! We’ve had snow twice so far but it’s melted now.
Ray, I loved your post today for so many reasons but it wouldn’t let me comment.

I’m not sure comments are working correctly on my blog at the moment. I just discovered several old comments that went to spam. 😰
I’m happy no matter what the weather is, I make it work. It’s warm again now.
