Degas Exhibit at The Denver Art Museum

The architecture of the Hamilton Building is in itself a work of art. Designed by Daniel Libeskind who is well known for edgy, geometrically interesting buildings around the world including The Jewish Museum in Berlin and London Metropolitan University. He is also known for being chosen to oversee the rebuilding of the World Trade Center in New York. The Polish born son of Holocaust survivors said he took his cue from the nearby Rocky Mountains in designing the newer building of The Denver Art Museum.

The gift shop has a beautiful display, sure to capture anyone who imagined themselves in the paintings or sketches of dancers.

Some highlights from my visit to The Denver Art Museum special Degas exhibit.

Moon Musings

Tonight’s full moon made its appearance bathed in clouds. Each month, as the full moon rises, I’m drawn to the beauty and light. Far from the city and it’s inherent light pollution, I’m able to appreciate the magic of moonlight and the reflections created.

What songs about the moon inspire you? My two favorites are: Van Morrison’s “Moondance” and King Harvest’s “Dancing in the Moonlight” – if you need me, I’ll be dancing.
