Clouds dance cheek to cheek with the continental divide Creating vibrant views best enjoyed from the top of the mountain. Long ski runs surrounded by pines with gentle whooshing sounds glistening in the afternoon sun.

Melk Abbey Austria
Another throwback from a 2015 trip. Overlooking the Danube, this was Home to Benedictine monks for around 1000 years. The renovation to the Abbey was funded by the sale of their Gutenberg Bible (sold to Harvard University) and completed in1996. It continues today through tourism and agriculture. Definitely worth visiting for the architecture and amazingContinue reading “Melk Abbey Austria”

Little Tokyo Los Angeles
In the heart of downtown Los Angeles is the interesting neighborhood of Little Tokyo. Here are a few shots from the afternoon. Outside of the Buddhist temple we saw strings with paper tied to them. Omikuji are strips of paper with fortunes that can be purchased at Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples all over Japan.Continue reading “Little Tokyo Los Angeles”
Lucerne Sunset
This is a “throwback” from three years ago as it came up in my Facebook memories. There is beauty everywhere you look in Lucerne. But the magical moments as the sun sets reflecting on the water is otherworldly. Combined with the leafless trees and the purple gardens, this is a sunset I will always remember.
Denver Art Museum part two
A few of my favorites from a recent visit to the museum. The first picture was from an animated work. The second is “O’Keefe after Whistler” by David P Bradley and brings two different artists together in a fascinating way. Several others are from the “Animals in Art” exhibit which is dedicated to our never-endingContinue reading “Denver Art Museum part two”

From the warmth of the house, we watched the snow fall and pile up. “It’s like being in a snow globe.” And now, the morning after, we have the peaceful beauty of snow laden trees under the bluebird sky. In aContinue reading “Snow in the forest”
The Stanley Hotel, Estes Park Colorado
The Stanley Hotel is best known for the 1980 cult classic “The Shining.” Combining the talents of writer Stephen King, director Stanley Kubrick, and actor Jack Nicholson, this has incited more than its share of nightmares. Upon mention of the hotel, most people will immediately be thinking: Redrum, Here’s Johnny, or a typewriter with theContinue reading “The Stanley Hotel, Estes Park Colorado”
